Launching: The August Family Collection
Always dreamt of owning a second home either near the beach, in the heart of a bustling European city or by the great outdoors? With the latest August Family Collection, you won't have to settle on one location but can enjoy multiple holiday homes in five popular destinations.
Offering greater affordability, less hassle and more freedom of choice than any sole holiday home ownership, August recognises that it doesn't make sense to own 100% of an asset when it's only used 10% of the time.
With an August Collection to suit every family, each collection is created with your needs in mind. Spacious, easily accessible and full of charm, the homes are located near local amenities, airports and leisure activities such as golf courses.
Prepare your family for when travel resumes and start discovering the open August Collections today, such as this Family collection or the Signature Collection, by getting in touch to request for collection brochures or join our next webinar.
Introducing the August Family Collection
August Family Collection
Featuring not one but five beautifully designed properties with 2-3 bedrooms that accommodate up to 6 people, this collection is perfect for smaller families/groups. The homes are located in the most sought after European locations.
Launching in February 2021, Phase 1 of this Family Collection is expected to complete in Q2 2021 with Phase 2 to complete in Q3 2021.
French Riviera, France, 2 bedroom flat
The Alpes-Maritimes, better known as la Côte d’Azur, spreads from Nice to Cannes, up to the Mercantour national park. Its bright light, breathtaking landscapes, azure sea and 300 days of sunshine a year make the Côte d’Azur a dream destination for a holiday home that can be used all year round.
Easily accessible, this area is a delightful place to kick back for a couple of days, try local food markets, fine restaurants, visit galleries and artisans’ shops in town, and discover the surrounding villages and beaches.
For the Family collection, we will be purchasing a 2 bedroom flat in the heart of one of the seaside towns, Cannes, Antibes, Villeneuve-Loubet, and Le vieux Nice, where the beach, shops and restaurants are just a stone throw.
We are focusing on finding the perfectly located apartment with nice views and surroundings and our ‘must have’ features such as a good size balcony, that we can renovate up to our August standards.
Chamonix, France, 2 bedroom flat
At the foot of the Mont-Blanc, Chamonix counts breath-taking scenery, historical sights and exciting year-round activities, so there’s plenty of things to do in Chamonix for all the family to enjoy. In fact, you will be surprised to know that there are more tourists visiting Chamonix in the summer than in the winter.
The valley of Chamonix is 15 km long from Les Houches to Argentiere, with the city of Chamonix being located in the middle of the valley. It is important to note that as the valley is surrounded by very high mountains some areas lie most of the year in the shade. Indeed the northern part of the valley gets a lot more sun than the southern part, especially so during the winter. For that reason, we focus on the northern part of Chamonix (city) all the way to Argentiere and exclude the southern regions around Les Houches.
The Family collection apartment in Chamonix will have 2 good size bedrooms, and be located in the center of the old village so that everything can be done by foot. Views to the Mont Blanc is a must.
Tuscany, Italy, 3 bedroom farmhouse
There are different opinions as to what the “real” Tuscany is. Having travelled across Tuscany some of our favourite areas are the ones of Chianti and Lucca.
Starting in the south of magnificent Florence, the Chianti valley expands all the way to Siena including all the area in between where the famous wine is grown. Chianti is home to adorable and authentic villages with picturesque market places, like Greve the capital of this region. There is also Lucca, our favourite area. Perfectly located, close to Pisa Airport, it is just 30 minutes from the sea, while being in the middle of rolling hills and traditional villages.
Your August home will therefore be a stone farmhouse in one of these areas, on top of a hill, boosting traditional features such as terracotta flooring, authentic fireplaces, arched ceilings and beams which give them the undeniable charm that you expect from a true Tuscan home.
We will restore your Tuscan August home in order to maintain its charm and authenticity while adding all modern appliances and features. You should expect a minimum of 3 bedrooms, 2 to 3 bathrooms, large open spaces, great outdoors, a private pool and an outdoor dining area for al fresco meals.
Barcelona, Spain, 2 - 3 bedroom flat
Barcelona celebrates its reputation as one of the most attractive cities in Europe. Whether you are into gastronomy and wine, lovely sandy beaches, Picasso, Miró and Dali, world-class architecture, shopping, or the active life with golf, tennis and even skiing, Barcelona has it all.
There are a number of different areas where we can buy in Barcelona. The August flat needs to be walking distance to small restaurants, bars, markets and the sea. Barcelona's soul can be found best on La Rambla - the city's lifeline with street artists, small shops, record stores and a flea market with everything from aquarium fish to antiques. The Rambla stretches from the large Plaça de Catalunya and divides the old town into two parts. An exciting area to visit with vibrant life, which makes the adjacent districts attractive for having a holiday home.
Your August home in Barcelona will be a 2 to 3 bedroom flat conveniently located close to all amenities. We are looking for a bright flat to upgrade, featuring authentic features so that we can transform it into the perfect August holiday home.
Mallorca, Spain, 2 bedroom flat
We have looked at holiday homes all over Mallorca, and have found that the best place to buy a holiday flat is in the southwest of the island - the area around Palma stretching all the way to Port D'Andratx, which are 10-15 minutes drive away and less than 30 minutes to the airport.
Andratx and Port D'Andratx are well known to holiday home buyers as they love its harbour, the many cafes and restaurants. There are also very few hotels in Andratx, so the city is well preserved. There are many local shops and cafes and in most harbour, you can expect the fishermen to sell their catch of the day at the end of the afternoon. These areas are also conveniently located just 10 minutes away from Palma, perfect to try one of its many restaurants or shopping trip which makes it even more attractive for an all-year-round destination.
Your August home in Mallorca will be a 2 bedroom flat conveniently located close to all amenities. A must in Mallorca is a view, so we are searching for a flat in one of the residences overlooking the bay as they offer the most stunning views and sunsets. An outdoor space is also a must so you should expect a terrace large enough to host large family meals.
