The Great Outdoors - Summer in Chamonix

Home to The Alp’s highest peak, the Chamonix Valley in France stretches from Servoz to Barberine on the Swiss border. It has the most stunning mountain top views that attract visitors from all around the world. With its high elevation, the Chamonix region is synonymous with Winter sports and even hosted the first-ever Winter Olympics in 1924. So whilst people flock for their Winter wonderland holidays, there is also an abundant amount of outdoor activities for the adventure seekers not too far from our August home that will have you loving Chamonix no matter what time of the year.

If you find yourself running out of ideas, the ‘la maison des guides’ (the guides house) in the main street of Chamonix can help provide you with all the information you need for all sorts of activities.

For now, here are a few of our Summer favorites:

Hiking

The best way to see and enjoy the Chamonix valley. With countless tracks and paths, enjoy the valley this easy way by heading to the center of Chamonix, following the river up the valley. Perfect for beginners, advanced and family fun.

No matter what your level of expertise, paragliding schools offer a variety of options with completely qualified instructors to glide you through this breathtaking experience.

Mountain Cycling Experiences

Chamonix’s terrain is so perfect that it has a whole range of mountain bike trails for beginners or off the beaten track for advanced bikers. Enjoy downhill jumps, join guided tours, explore the valley with your family or if you’re lucky to catch the worlds hardest MTB event in late July - The Mont Blanc Race.

Golfing

At the foot of the Alpine giants is this world-class green with an unforgettable surreal picturesque backdrop. Enjoy lunch with the family at the Club or hit a few rounds of ball. Chamonix Golf Club is not to be missed for any golfing enthusiast or pro.

Watersports - Canoeing / Rafting / Fishing

Where there are valleys, there are rivers and lakes. So there's no doubt that watersports such as Rafting, Canyoning, Kayaking and Fishing are all very popular in Chamonix. Some more suited to families than others, there are great varieties of water fun to be had.

See you in Chamonix soon!
